Why a Purity Ring???
To the person wearing one, a purity ring is a daily reminder
of the purity promise that they made. It is also a statement to others
who see it on their finger. It
tells the world that they are waiting on God's plan and that there is no
compromising.
The concept behind a purity ring is so simple, yet so powerful. A
commitment is made to remain pure until marriage. On your wedding day, you take
the purity ring off and exchange it for a wedding ring. Keep the purity ring
somewhere safe. When the day comes, pass it on to your child and ask them to
make the same promise you made.
Yes, a simple purity ring. It is the most important piece of
jewelry that a teen or single adult can have. This
ring will be a constant reminder to you of God's faithfulness. The world will
still tempt you, but you will feel God's peace and be satisfied knowing that
His perfect promise will be fulfilled in His perfect timing.
And what if your life has not been pure? Well, that's the beauty
of God's grace. Through our heartfelt repentance, we are forgiven and given a
new beginning. We don't want to sin again. We start over on a clean slate! The Bible declares that we are a
new creation! Thanks to Jesus' sacrifice and our repentance, in God's eyes we
are pure!
We encourage you to prayerfully consider the benefits of a purity
ring. Along with the poem, pledge card and Covenant of Purity certificate that
accompany each ring, you will have tools that will help you make a commitment
to remain pure until God blesses you with the perfect spouse.
Did you know that teens not being abstinent results in:
Millions of Unwanted Pregnancies Every Year
40 Million Abortions since the early 1970’s (many destroying
the young woman’s chances to ever have children again).
Millions of Serious and Deadly Sexually Transmitted Diseases
Every Year
Millions of Families Torn Apart Every Year.
Millions of Teens Raising Children in Poverty Every Year.
Millions of Teens not Being Able to Live Their Dreams,
Finish Their Education and Support Their Future Families to the Standard of
Living That They Hoped For.
Millions of Broken Hearts Every Year
Not following God’s word and His plan for our lives.
With our heartfelt repentance God is quick to
forgive – but as the facts above show - there are serious consequences for our mistakes.
Our well meaning socially liberal friends tell our children
to protect themselves. We know condoms
don’t protect kids from any of the above mentioned problems. We know condoms don’t stop hearts from being
broken and families from being destroyed.
We know the statistics they use are dead wrong. Hollywood shows us the “fun”
parts of sin, but we are all smart enough to know that in the end – sin is
never fun. In reality the consequences
of sin are destructive and devastating (but that reality doesn’t make for a
good Hollywood movie).
It’s our responsibility as parents, mentors and as a society
is to protect our children.
Encouragement, education, being a positive role model – it’s all part of
being a responsible adult. It’s time to
teach teens about truths. Truths that no
one ever enjoyed an abortion. No one
ever enjoyed an unwanted pregnancy, no one ever enjoyed getting a sexually
transmitted disease, no one ever enjoyed foregoing their education and living
in poverty, and no one ever enjoyed giving away a piece of their heart to
someone who ultimately crushed it.
God has a plan for everyone’s life. It’s our decision as to whether we are going
to strive to be our very best, respect ourselves and others – or throw our
lives into chaos.
Parents – it’s time to be parents. Care about these teens, encourage them and
educate them. Teaching them about
abstinence, purity and God’s unconditional love for them is great first step.
A purity ring and the Covenant of Purity Contract that comes
with each ring are an inspiring gift to start these times off with.
Let’s work together to encourage and inspire the next
generation! Purity and abstinence work
(God tells us so) !!!
